About this event
How can criminal sentencing ensure accountability, healing for the crime victim, and meaningful change for the sentenced person? Join us for a powerful event featuring the voices of crime survivors who are reshaping the conversation around justice. Through their personal stories, these courageous individuals will highlight the need for sentencing approaches that not only hold people accountable but also reward change and rehabilitation.
Survivors will share the range of responses they believe should be available at sentencing. These stories underscore the need for sentencing updates that reflect the realities of survivors' experiences and build public safety through healing and change, not just punishment. Together, we will explore a vision for justice that centers on the well-being of all.
This event is brought to you by FAMM and the Vera Institute of Justice.
