Georgetown Law&#39;s Center on Poverty and Inequality and its Initiative on Gender Justice &amp; Opportunity presents: A Timely Conversation Between the Initiative&#39;s Youth Advisors and Prof. Kris Henning, Author of &quot;The Rage of Innocence: How America Criminalizes Black Youth.&quot;<br /><br />Kris Henning, an Academic Advisor to the Initiative on Gender Justice &amp; Opportunity, is the Blume Professor of Law and Director of the Juvenile Justice Clinic and Initiative at Georgetown Law Center. Prior to working at Georgetown, Kris served as the Lead Attorney for the Juvenile Unit of the DC Public Defender Service. She currently serves as the Director of the Mid-Atlantic Juvenile Defender Center.<br /><br />Her powerful new book examines the causes and effects of racist policing of Black children.<br /><br />The Initiative&#39;s Youth Advisors will lead a conversation with Professor Henning to focus on Black girls&#39; perspectives on the topics addressed in the book.
