What is this?
The Office of the Lieutenant Governor invites you to attend a virtual conversation about the Children of Incarcerated Parents Task Force report release, taking place Wednesday, January 27th, from 10:00AM to 11:30AM.
This event will convene experts and advocates for a discussion focused on children of incarcerated parents and the trauma they experience from their parent's engagement with the justice system. The program features a press conference with Lieutenant Governor Stratton, Representative Delia Ramirez, and Willette Benford. First Lady MK Pritzker will provide remarks prior to a panel discussion moderated by Colette Payne. The discussion's panelists include Director Heidi Mueller (Illinois Department of Juvenile Justice), Dr. Nia Heard-Garris (Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago, Sheldon Smith (Dovetail Project), Anita Weinberg (Child Law Policy Institute), and Alexis Mansfield (Women's Justice Institute).
