In this one-hour virtual CLE, youth defenders will hear from AOIC staff about the development and implementation of a new screening tool for youth detention. As a part of the registration process, defenders will have the opportunity to submit their questions about the detention screening tool for AOIC representatives to answer. After learning about the screening tool, there will be a defender-focused discussion of the statutory changes to the detention which went into effect on July 1, 2026, and how defenders may be able to utilize those changes in advocating for their clients.
