About this event
The National Resource Center’s Diversion and Alternatives Reform Team (DART) Initiative supports jurisdictions nationwide in their efforts to design and expand effective diversion, deflection, and alternative responses to formal prosecution. Rooted in community safety, accountability, reduction of risk, and victim rights, the DART Initiative equips leaders with practical strategies that move beyond traditional approaches.
The session will explore how jurisdictions can build a comprehensive array of diversion responses and approaches that strengthen community and agency partnerships – and provide measurable and sustainable positive outcomes. Participants will learn about the NRC’s DART Technical Assistance that supports right-sizing probation and court caseloads, minimizing unnecessary system entry, and expanding access to evidence-informed, community-based interventions. The NRC seeks to develop a cadre of Blue Ribbon jurisdictions that we can highlight for replication across the United States.
Presenters:
John A. Tuell, Executive Director, National Resource Center
Jodi Martin, Deputy Executive Director, National Resource Center
