About this event

Silenced, abused, and desperate for help, children across the nation are being funneled into prison-like “behavior modification” centers under the guise of treatment. The pipeline to these programs are targeting the most vulnerable youth through school IEPs, the juvenile justice system, foster care referrals, and parents seeking help for their teens.

The American Bar Association is hosting an exclusive panel series “Youth in Congregate Care: Far from Home, Far from Safe” with Paris Hilton, Senator Sara Gelser, and more to bring you an inside look at the movement that is changing the landscape of youth residential treatment and changing lives.

This program is the plenary on a multi-series of programs that will further explore the complex legal issues that have become hallmarks of these troubling programs.
