About this event

IL Criminal Justice Information Authority presents this on-going webinar dealing with how mass incarceration in the United States has disproportionately impacted people of color, particularly those residing in concentrated urban areas. Research indicates incarceration may increase crime as a result of negative consequences to the formerly incarcerated, their families, and their communities. In this webinar, presenters will discuss the prevalence, causes, and consequences of community concentration of prison admissions and returns, as well as highlight reentry efforts to reduce returns to corrections, including in Cook County.
